Like many non-profit, historic theatres, ticket sales generate only a portion of the total income needed to operate the Tivoli Theatre and the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium. Therefore, the Tivoli Theatre Foundation is excited to announce the new Friends of the Tivoli program. This recently launched membership program gives loyal supporters the opportunity to enjoy exclusive member only events, ticket pre-sale opportunities, VIP parking and other unique benefits. In addition to these exciting members only perks, Friends of the Tivoli contributions also ensure both venues remain vibrant theatrical and performing arts attractions, enhancing our quality of life and making Chattanooga a great place to live! The Tivoli Theatre Foundation was formed by Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke in 2015 to ensure the sustainability of two city-owned historic sites, The Tivoli Theatre and Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Auditorium, while promoting them as vibrant attractions that add to the quality of life in Chattanooga.

The formation of an independent nonprofit or foundation was recommended to Mayor Berke through the Chattanooga Forward/Entertainment & Attractions Task Force after the Task Force spent several months researching how to strengthen both the Tivoli and Memorial Auditorium. The Task Force met with arts organizations and various stakeholders for their ideas about the future of these venues. Comparative research of similar venues was also conducted, including the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville, Tennessee.
